Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Rat Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 375.00. Meet Pretzel, Preston, Petey & Pixie – Four Pups, Four Personalities, One Big Adventure! Pretzel, Preston, Petey, and Pixie are four adorable siblings who made the journey from Puerto Rico to Central Florida through one of our wonderful rescue partners. They arrived at Pet Rescue By Judy in search of the loving forever homes they each deserve. While we are not exactly sure what breed mix these cuties are, we do have a photo of their mom available on each of their individual pages. Based on what we know, we do not believe any of them will grow to be over 30 pounds, making them a great size for many types of homes. All four pups are incredibly sweet and playful. They love to explore, have fun, and soak up attention from their people. Like many young pups, they can be vocal — they have high-pitched barks and will let you know when they’re excited or experiencing something new. Their little voices are just part of their big personalities! Each sibling is unique, and as they settle into foster homes and we learn more about their individual personalities, we will continue to update their pages with more details to help find the perfect match for each one. Important Information for New Puppy Parents Welcoming a new puppy into your home is an exciting and rewarding experience—but it also comes with important responsibilities. To help your puppy grow into a happy, confident, and well-adjusted adult dog, dedication to obedience training, socialization, and consistent potty training is essential. We strongly recommend that the entire family participates in puppy training classes. This not only helps build a strong bond with your new pup but also ensures that everyone is using the same commands and techniques, creating a clear and consistent environment for learning. **Puppies thrive with structure, patience, and positive reinforcement—and so do their families! Let’s set them up for a lifetime of love and success.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Lab-Rat Terrier is a fascinating designer breed resulting from the cross between a Labrador Retriever and a Rat Terrier. Originating from the desire to combine the best traits of both parents, this energetic companion typically boasts a medium build, with a coat that can vary widely in color and texture, from the sleekness of a Rat Terrier to the dense double coat of a Lab. Physically, they often inherit the expressive eyes of a Lab and the more athletic, compact frame of a Rat Terrier. Temperamentally, they are known to be intelligent, loyal, and playful, often displaying a zest for life. Their moderate size and adaptable nature can make them suitable for families, though their energy levels mean they thrive with regular exercise and mental stimulation. While they can adapt to apartment living with sufficient outdoor activity, a home with a yard is often ideal. Generally a healthy breed, potential owners should be aware of possible predispositions to conditions seen in their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia from the Labrador side, or luxating patellas from the Rat Terrier lineage, emphasizing the importance of responsible breeding. Their friendly disposition and eager-to-please attitude make them wonderful, engaging pets for active individuals or families.
