Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Celyn #1 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails) . Celyn | 4-Month-Old Mixed Breed | Sweet Girl with the Softest Eyes At four months old and 22 pounds, Celyn is a white-and-brown beauty with soulful eyes and an even sweeter personality. After being abandoned on the side of the road in Texas, she has quickly shown that all she really wants is love. She bonds fast, rests her head gently on you, offers her paw for attention, and happily rolls over for belly rubs. Celyn is almost fully house trained. She occasionally has accidents, mostly on puppy pads, and is still learning how to signal when she needs to go out. She’s improving every day. Crate training is going well — she goes in easily with a treat and sleeps through the night. She has been crated for up to two hours at a time and, after a couple early accidents, is now doing much better. She may whine briefly when crated but settles down. On leash, she does well overall, sometimes lingering or pulling a bit, but she enjoys her walks. She has had positive interactions with dogs of all sizes, does well with children 10 and up, and is largely uninterested in cats. She has no preference when it comes to people and loves everyone equally. Celyn has higher puppy energy and would enjoy 1–2 hours of activity a day, whether that’s walks, fetch, or playtime. That said, she also has a calm side and is more than happy to snuggle once she’s gotten her exercise. She loves toys (especially her toy chicken), bones, tug games, car rides, and being near her people. She is motivated by food, toys, and affection, and she’s responding well to structure in her foster home. Her ideal home is simply a loving one. This adorable low-rider would likely enjoy another playful dog but would also thrive as the center of someone’s world. Celyn is a joyful, affectionate puppy who just wants a family to call her own. If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $450 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogsarrcolorado for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: arrcolorado/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
