Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Hi, my name is Truffles, I'm a 20 pound 4 month old terrier mix. I was found as a stray and was very skinny and was a little afraid. They said I was really nice to me but I needed more of a home setting, so I went to a rescue. My foster mom said I'm very sweet and I love to play then I like to cuddle with my person. I will need a fenced in yard to play in and another dog that likes to play would be great! I would be good with children, but I'm young so I still jump up some. I'm good with cats but I try to play with them sometimes. After I play or when I'm tired I like to sit beside my person. I get spayed on the 27th and then I'm ready to go to my forever home, I am chipped, crate trained and doing very good on my potty training. My adoption fee is $350.00. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
