James Earl Bones is currently living with kids in his foster home and is doing very well! We haven't seen him with cats but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home! Special adoption considerations: James Earl Bones is a truly Lucky Dog. He tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives. James Earl Bones is Looking For: His forever home! This young boy is eagerly looking forward to having his own humans for sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up. And dog school so he can show how super smart he is. And then pets and cuddles and belly scritches at the end of a fun day together. And he'll want quality kibble and a cushy dog bed. This charming young pup is crate-trained, house-trained, and knows how to sit on command. He walks beautifully on a leash and impresses everyone with his excellent manners. James Earl Bones is wonderful around children—my 12-year-old daughter enjoys spending time with him, and he’s always gentle and well-behaved. He would do well in any living situation, either a house or an apartment. While he’s still a bit timid on some stairs and working on his confidence, James Earl Bones just needs a little patience and encouragement to continue blossoming.
