Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Luka is one of our southern gentlemen. This adorable pup is with one of our sister rescues in Louisiana but he's ready to trade the bayou for life in NJ if we can find a loving foster or even better, a forever family here. Meet Luka- a beautiful German Shepherd who’s ready for his fresh start. Luka hasn’t had the easiest journey. He and his sister were surrendered in heartbreaking condition — Luka weighed only 20 pounds when he arrived at the shelter. But with time, love, and care, he’s blossomed into a healthy 40-pound boy (with just a bit more filling out to do). Now, Luka’s showing everyone what a happy, outgoing, and affectionate pup he truly is. He’s kennel trained, quick to learn, and loves being part of the family routine. Once he’s comfortable, his sweet and friendly personality really shines. Luka’s looking for a home that will give him the love, patience, and stability he deserves — and in return, he’ll offer endless loyalty and heart. Luka is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. His adoption fee is $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption.
