Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Berry is a 5-year-old Belgian Malinois who is every bit as sweet as her name suggests! Confident, outgoing, and eager to make new friends, Berry loves her people and is always ready to be part of the action. She is a smart girl who enjoys learning and already has a solid foundation of good manners. Berry knows her basic commands, is fully potty trained, crate trained, rides beautifully in the car, and has excellent house manners. One of Berry's best qualities is her ability to settle. She can spend the day playing, exploring, and having fun, then happily curl up beside her favorite person for a nap. She also does very well when left home alone and has proven to be patient and non-destructive. Berry enjoys the company of male dogs and is currently living successfully with a male Schnauzer. While she is social and friendly with male dogs, Berry is an alpha female at heart and would strongly prefer to be the only female dog in the home. Due to her high prey drive, Berry is not a good fit for homes with cats. If you're looking for a loyal companion who is equal parts adventure buddy and cuddle partner, Berry may be your perfect match. She promises to reward her future family with plenty of love—and her signature Malinois hugs! All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and 6 month subscription. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
