Special adoption considerations: Flash is shy and needs a welcoming resident dog who will show her the ropes! Flash is Looking For: This gorgeous girl is in her prime as a young adult dog. The Malinois in her - well, those dogs are super smart and need plenty of physical and mental enrichment to thrive. Flash wants nothing more than to be safe and loved, to know where she belongs, to have her own humans for world exploration and all those activities - maybe nosework, maybe advanced agility training. To get there, she needs extra patient and loving adopters who understand she hasn't seen enough of the world and can be shy in new environments. She needs a friendly resident dog who will show her how to dog. In exchange she promises so many adoring gazes, so much love, and intense loyalty for all her days. What do you say? Can you see her by your side? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once she has spent time in foster care. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
