Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed. This handsome boy is Jack! Jack is a 1.5 years old Anatolian Shephard mix weighing 86lbs and he is a complete sweetheart! Jack is a gentle giant, a reserved boy who is also good with everyone he meets, including dogs of all ages and sizes and as an added bonus, he is also good with cats! Jack arrived with impeccable manners: He is quiet, submissive, crate trained, almost house trained, walks great on a leash, has no destructive habits, and no separation anxiety. He is the perfect blend of playfulness and easy going. Whether you’re hitting the trail for a hike or he is playing with his furry friends outside, once the fun is over, he’s happy to settle on his bed while you get things done, and he’s the first one to claim a spot by the couch for family TV time at the end of the day. He loves people and cuddles, and he will put his big paws on your shoulder and give you the deepest hug when you need it! He truly is a dream for all the big dog lovers out there! If you are looking for a young, playful dog who is also incredibly well-behaved and respectful of your schedule, Jack is the perfect dog for you! Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
