Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Mixed. Babs is a spirited, fun-loving girl who brings energy and heart wherever she goes. She loves being around people and other dogs and quickly made herself part of the pack in her foster home — proudly helping patrol the yard for squirrels and birds. When she plays with her puppies, you’d think she was a puppy herself. She adores a good game of “pounce” with her people and happily gathers up plush toys and chew toys from the basket (she prefers to pick her own!) to share the fun. Watching her trot off with a toy in her mouth is guaranteed to make you smile. Babs definitely has some classic chihuahua personality — attentive, expressive, and devoted — but once she feels safe and settled, she isn’t overly barky. What she truly wants is to be included. Whether it’s relaxing at home or joining in daily activities, Babs is happiest when she’s part of the action. Affectionate, playful, and deeply loyal, Babs would make a wonderful constant companion. She’s the kind of dog who bonds closely and fills your home with personality and love — and she’s adored by her foster family, both two- and four-legged alike. Babs Bunny was rescued from a crowded shelter in New Mexico. Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
