Dog Breed: Hound / Terrier / Mixed. Bimbi has a mysterious history since he was found as a stray and brought into shelter. Whatever happened to him before has not marred his sunny disposition and love for people. Take one look at his big smile and perky ears and know that Bimbi is ready for plenty of happy times with a forever home and family. Bimbi is an 11-month-old Hound mix with a black, tan and white coat, and those perky ears that seem to be listening to everyone and everything. Bimbi weighs 34 pounds, making him a medium sized dog (31-60 pounds). He is great with children and other dogs. It is not known whether Bimbi is happy with cats. Bimbi has checked off all the boxes with mastering his house, crate and leash training. Although he is housetrained, it is important to remember that accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. We will never know how Bimbi ended up on his own for a while but there is nothing hidden or mysterious about how much affection Bimbi is ready to bestow on the new family that gives him a forever home. * When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
