Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Border Collie / Mixed. Chica is a sweet, gentle 45 lb mix of lab and possibly border collie. She came from Florida as a service dog but showed that she was not able to co exist with the other 2 dogs in the household consistently. Chica loves to play and can show that she is energetic, especially when her owner returns from being out- she is very happy to see them return but in general is calm and well behaved. She is housebroken, good in the car, and loves her toys- especially her squeakys and chews! She does not guard her toys or food, and walks nicely on leash. She is not destructive when left alone and is not crated. In general she is the perfect houseguest. She has shown to be slightly skittish and for that reason is not recommended for small children. We think she would do best as an only child, but is not reactive to other dogs on leash and also did well with a child she met during our meet. Chica is the perfect size and could be the perfect addition to many families as she loves people and greets everyone appropriately. She does love to run in the yard, but could also do well with an active family. It is unknown how she would do with a cat. Chica will be brought up to date on vaccines and tested for heartworm. She has been spayed/neutered and has a microchip. His/Her adoption fee is $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home. CLICK HERE TO FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION!

Breed overview
Overview:
The Borador, a delightful cross between the intelligent Border Collie and the friendly Labrador Retriever, is a relatively new designer breed gaining popularity. Originating from the desire to blend the best traits of both parents, Boradors typically inherit a medium build, often with the Labrador's strong frame and the Collie's agile grace. Their coat can vary widely in color and texture, from short and dense to medium-length and feathery, usually requiring moderate grooming. Temperamentally, they are known for being loyal, energetic, and highly trainable, making them excellent companions for active families. They thrive in environments where they receive plenty of physical and mental stimulation, making them less suitable for small apartment living unless daily exercise is guaranteed. While generally healthy, potential owners should be aware of predispositions to conditions seen in their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia or certain eye conditions, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding practices.
