Description
Dog Breed: West Highland White Terrier Westie (medium coat). Blizzard is a cute little West Highland White terrier puppy, born 10/31/25. He has puppy papers to be registered with APRI (America's Pet Registry Inc). He was born in a commercial kennel, then consigned to a dog breeder auction as part of a complete kennel sell-out. He was purchased into rescue so he can spend his life as a valued family member rather than in a breeder's pen. He is a happy, playful, friendly puppy who gets along with other pups and ignores the barn cats. He is microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and has been dosed with DectoMax for a slight earmite infestation. He weighed 8.5 pounds on 3/2/26. Because he is too young to neuter, he will be placed with a neuter contract. When proof of surgery has been received, adopter will be mailed a rebate check for $50.00 His adoption fee is $450.00 If you would like to adopt Blizzard, email me at thistle88centurytel and request an application.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
