Dog Breed: Australian Shepherd / Catahoula Leopard Dog / Mixed. Pitsky came to the shelter when his previous owners could no longer care for him. Through it all, he has remained a gentle, happy soul who truly loves everyone he meets. He is said to know basic commands in Spanish, is food motivated, and eager to learn, which makes him a fun and rewarding companion to work with. He absolutely adores other dogs and is playful, friendly, and submissive in his interactions. Pitsky engages with other dogs in a sweet and confident way to encourage them to play and feel comfortable. He thrives in playgroups and is a shelter staff favorite because of his wonderful temperament and loving nature. Pitsky would do best in a home with other dogs to play with and a yard where he can stretch his legs and burn off some of his young, happy energy. He is a good boy with a big heart who is ready for stability, companionship, and a family who will love him for the rest of his life. If you are looking for a playful, affectionate, and social companion, Pitsky is ready to be your best friend. Pitsky was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico. Meet and greets are by appointment only. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
