Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Available for Early Adoption – Meet Elric! Elric is a happy, confident little guy who is eager to learn and always ready to please. He loves exploring his surroundings and takes in the world with curiosity and enthusiasm. Well-behaved, gentle, and loving, Elric truly has the sweetest soul. He enjoys his toys, playing outdoors with his friends, and discovering new adventures. Easygoing and independent, he can happily entertain himself but also thrives on affection and companionship. Elric is affectionate, fun, and full of heart — ready to bring joy, love, and laughter to his forever home. He is learning basic commands such as come, sit, down, off and leave it. Elric is piddle pad trained, currently working on crate/potty training, not leash trained yet, great with kids, cats and all dogs. Elric has had 2 vet visits, is neutered, Microchipped, UTD on all vaccinations, had a 4 DX test (testing for Lyme disease and two types of tick-borne illnesses), flea/tick/heartworm prevention (Nexgard Plus), 2 dewormings, and a 1 fecal tests. Adopters will receive all original paperwork, a 14-day health guarantee, a collar, harness, leash, seatbelt lock, and a week's worth of food. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis and are by appointment only. We are located in Mesa near Gilbert/Brown

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
