Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois (medium coat). Iâm Arlo, and I feel most like myself when Iâm outside with the wind in my fur and something interesting to sniff. The world is full of smells, and I take my job of investigating them very seriously. If youâre willing to pet me, talk to me, or tell me Iâm a good dog, Iâm right there soaking it up. Iâll lean into you, look up at you with bright, eager eyes, and wag my tail like itâs my full-time job. Walks are my favorite adventure. The moment I see the leash, Iâm alert and ready. Indoors can make me a little unsure. I much prefer the open air where I can see whatâs around me and feel free to move. Outside is where I relax, where I can stretch out, patrol my space, and settle in comfortably. Iâm smart, too. I know how to sit politely, and I can shake your hand like a true professional; especially if youâve got high-value treats. Bring out the really good snacks, and youâll see just how focused and eager I can be. I love having a job to do and a reason to show off my skills.Give me sunshine, space to sniff, kind words, and a tasty reward, and Iâll be the happiest Malinois youâve ever met.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
