Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). Location: Boardman, Ohio Hello, my name is Toby. I am a very playful and energetic 7 1/2 yr old cattle dog. I came from GA where my family could no longer care for me. I have a foster brother, but would rather be the only dog in my forever home. I love to play ball and love toys. I would love to a forever home that takes me for walks and car rides. Notes from Toby's foster mom: Toby is a very smart and alert cattle dog. He sleeps in his crate all night and goes to his crate when told. He is potty trained, neutered and up on all his shots. Toby is like a shadow and will always be by your side. Toby is a very loveable dog and loves to cuddle with you. A fenced yard would be good for Toby to roam. Tobe is being fostered in Boardman, Ohio Please email: seaside2baysidegmail for any questions concerning Toby. Apply to adopt Link at acdra/adoption-application

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
