Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (short coat). #A5754564 Say hello to Solo , a 5-year-old Pitbull boy who’s long, lean, and leggy with a stunning grey velvet coat and the most soulful eyes you’ve ever seen. This big, handsome pup may have a muscular build, but underneath it all he’s a total squishy marshmallow and certified lover boy. Solo was, sadly, owner surrendered when his previous family had too many pets, but his heart remains just as full and open as ever. He’s affectionate, gentle, and so ready to bond deeply with his person. All he wants is a cozy spot by your side and a forever home to call his own. Will you give this sweet gentle giant the second chance he deserves? -5 year old grey Pitbull -102 pound male -no medical notes, so Solo may need the standard round of shots and preventatives before you can take him home, as well as a neuter - but the shelter can likely help with this! Just to be safe, he may need to be adopted on a health waiver - adopter to follow up with own vet for further diagnostics and potential treatment -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 2/6/26 as an owner surrender - his previous family had too many pets and sadly chose him to give up -extra big blockheaded cutie patootie, with an even bigger heart that he’s just waiting to share with you -this big beautiful baby truly shines in person, so come check out this cutie yourself - you won’t regret it! A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
