Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat). Location: Atlanta, GA Say “Hello” to Marnie, the most perfect angel baby you’ll ever meet. Marnie came from a hoarding situation, and we were worried she’d be a nervous wreck. She has wowed us with her adjustment into our home. She still gets a little spooked sometimes, but she loves all people and every dog she’s ever met. She isn’t reactive on a leash. She loves to chase birds and squirrels but hasn’t ever caught any. Marnie would do well in a home with other dogs but could be alright as an only dog in a situation where she isn’t left home alone often or for a long time. We haven’t seen Marnie with cats, but I suspect she would be fine with them. Marnie is mostly potty trained but might need some reminder treats in a new situation. She is up to date on vaccinations and spayed. Marnie is such a good girl. She is loyal and just wants to hang with her people. She loves to go on a walk but is also happy to chill on the couch snuggled up under the blankets. She likes to play with other dogs but is happy to just do her own thing. She can be skittish or afraid but has never lashed out, only tried to avoid the negative stimuli. Please contact Gilliemaegmail Complete an Application: .acdra/adoption-application

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
