Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $250.00. Hi! My name is Vindaloo and I’m a sweet and spicy 3 year old male terrier looking for my forever family. I am smart, quick and agile and my foster parents think I would be a fabulous outdoor adventure buddy (or circus performer if that is your jam)! My favorite thing to do is explore the outdoors but I am also happy to go on car rides or just snuggle up on the couch and watch a movie in your lap. I just want to be wherever you are! I am housebroken and sleep well in my crate at night as long as I’m in the room with you. I still struggle being left alone - I’m worried that you will forget about me! My past is unknown but the vet found buckshot embedded in my head during my neuter so it probably wasn’t great. I’m still learning that I’m safe and would benefit from patience and training. I tend to resource guard things that are important to me so I need to be in a home with no small children. I get along great with dogs of all sizes and would benefit from a balanced sibling that will show me the ropes. I’d also be happy being your only best friend. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
