Dog Breed: Cattle Dog / Mixed (short coat). Meet Jilly! Rescued with her sisters Jello and Joanie, sweet Jilly is a little Cattle dog pup mixed with another small breed (Chihuahua maybe?). She is just around 8-10 weeks old and will likely grow to a medium size as an adult. Jilly has a sweet nature and a sharp little mind. She loves being near her people and is already making great progress with crate training and starting potty training. True to her breed, Jilly is smart, curious, and eager to learn. She’ll thrive with continued training, enrichment, and an active family who enjoys adventures and giving their dog a fun “job” to do. With guidance and consistency, she’s going to grow into an incredibly loyal and confident companion. Puppies are a big commitment, but raising Jilly means building a lifelong bond with a devoted best friend. If you’re ready to invest in her bright future, she’s ready to give you her whole heart. Jilly will receive her first puppy vaccinations, microchip and deworming. She will be spayed at our cost between 8-12 months of age. Her adoption fee is $525. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life! A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
