Name: Brody Best Guess for Breed: Beagle mix Best Guess for Age: 2 years as of March 2026 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 27 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Special adoption considerations: Brody is shy and would benefit from a canine sibling if he lives in the city. Brody is Looking For: This young pup and his pal Emmy landed in the shelter through no fault of their own. They aren't a bonded pair - they're splitting up ISO their new humans. and searching for their new families. Brody is in his prime as a young adult dog and eager for sniffy walks, romps in parks, and all the adventures his new family can dream up. Making pup pals along the way is on his wish list as well. But you know what he wants most of all? To know he's safe and loved, where he belongs. In exchange, he promises all the adoring gazes he's storing up, and love and loyal companionship for all his days. What My Foster Says About Me: Brody is an exceptionally nice boy. His constantly wagging tail shows he's going to be an amazing family member. Brody adores our resident dogs and is so sweet and gentle that they all love him - from the young, rambunctious one to the older, mellow boys. He's doing great in the crate when we go into the office and though curious and constantly sniffing, acclimated great to the house. He's smart and highly treat motivated and walks great on leash. His perfect family will have an other dog to show him the ropes and otherwise just be looking for a great "Little Bro" to add to their pack! Brody continues to get along well with our dog Helly, they have a great time together and like to wrestle inside. He still favors playing with her in the dog park but has found a couple other dogs that he is interested in playing with, so his confidence in the dog park is improving. He is still cautious (but not fearful) with bigger dogs in the dog park. He’s very confident on walks in our semi-urban area of Pentagon City, and often will jump ahead when walking with Helly, and does well on his own as well. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
