Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Mastiff / Mixed. PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 3/3/26 Celeste is absolutely stunning and absolutely available!! ⭐️She is enrolled in the Paws in Prison program. She will graduate April 6 and we really need to have an adopter lined up for her. So, please share!!! ⭐️ When you’re an inmate trainer and you’re convinced you have the best behaved and best looking dog in the whole state, your face is bound to show it! The dog is Celeste, and she’s the queen. Just ask her trainer, he’s always ready to sing her praises. Celeste is a magical dog…so darn pretty and very charming. She can capture a heart in 37 seconds or less. Celeste is a mix…with Great Dane a possibility? Maybe a little Mastiff in the mix? We’re not sure but she’s big girl…about 70 pounds at 1 year old. She’ll grow a bit more, but then she’s done. She is not very tall, but has a very heavy build. This is a very captivating dog…friendly, agreeable, affectionate and gorgeous. All you have to do is meet her, and you’ll know what all the fuss is about. She is a good girl who gets along well with other dogs and loves kids. At the Paws in Prison program she is paired with inmate trainers who work with her on basic commands, house training, and maybe a few tricks! When she graduates she will have all of the skills needed to pass the Canine Good Citizen test. This is an 8 week program and we hope to have an adopter ready and waiting for Celeste when he graduates! She is spayed, UTD on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Celeste is located in Arkansas. She can be adopted locally, but transport is available to the New England area as well. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them in PA, NY, or CT on Saturdays. To apply, please fill out the adoption app: form.jotform/212690945239059 email apps.aasrgmail with any questions. Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Breed overview
Overview:
The Mastador is a compelling hybrid, blending the robust nature of the Mastiff with the amiable disposition of the Labrador Retriever. Originating from designer breed initiatives, this cross aims to combine the best traits of its powerful parents. Physically, Mastadors are large to giant-sized dogs, boasting a muscular build and a dense, often short coat, with colors varying widely depending on their lineage. Their temperament is typically a delightful mix of the Mastiff's gentle loyalty and the Lab's playful affection, making them surprisingly gentle giants. They are generally good with families, including children, but their size necessitates supervision and early socialization. Due to their substantial size and need for moderate exercise, apartment living is not ideal; a home with a yard is preferable. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns common to large breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, bloat, and certain heart conditions, necessitating regular veterinary check-ups and a high-quality diet.
