Description
Dog Breed: Terrier. Meet Daisy, also known as Jackpot! Born in December 2024, this fun-loving pup is full of energy and affection. Daisy loves going for walks, car rides, and running around the backyard to burn off her zoomies. When playtime is over, she’s more than happy to settle in for a good snuggle. Daisy already knows several commands, including “sit,” “stay,” and “food,” and she enjoys learning and engaging with her people. She has done well with older children but has had very little exposure to younger kids or other dogs, so slow, proper introductions will be important. She has not yet been socialized with cats. With continued guidance and socialization, Daisy has all the potential to grow into a wonderful family companion. If you’re looking for an active, loving pup to join your adventures and your couch, Daisy might be your girl! Your kindness can make a world of difference in the life of a homeless animal. We do allow foster to adopt homes, so, if you fall in love and want to become a forever home, you will have priority for adoption consideration! If you can offer a temporary foster home, please complete a foster application at ITVrescue. All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated, if necessary.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
