Description
Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Mixed. Meet Captain Jack Captain Jack may be tiny, but he’s a big bundle of joy. This little Yorkie adapts quickly to new surroundings and is eager to figure out the routine wherever he lands. He does great walking on a harness and leash and loves to stay close to his person. In fact, he’ll happily follow you everywhere, just to make sure you don’t miss out on his sweet little kisses. Captain Jack isn’t quite comfortable in a small crate yet, but he sleeps soundly each night in a larger kennel. With his affectionate personality and easygoing nature, he’s ready to sail straight into his forever. He is neutered, dewormed, microchipped, current with all vaccines (as appropriate for his age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. Captain Jack is currently being fostered in South Carolina. ADOPT CAPTAIN JACK! .LuckyPupRescueSC The adoption fee is $375.00 and we require a vet check and home visit.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
