Like most puppies their age, they are curious, playful, and full of personality. They enjoy exploring, playing with their siblings, and discovering all the new sights and sounds of the world around them. These pups are still babies and will need families committed to helping them learn all the important skills of growing up, including house training, leash walking, and basic manners. With patience, love, and guidance, they are sure to grow into wonderful companions. With their Lab and Shepherd heritage, they will likely grow into medium to large, active dogs who will thrive in homes that can provide exercise, structure, and plenty of affection. If you're ready for all the fun, chaos, and joy that comes with raising a puppy, Fargo, Bismarck, or Medora may be the perfect addition to your family. * Puppies under 5 months should not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time to help them with potty training and socialization. If you have previously applied with us please email placementmidwestanimalrescue to reactivate your application with new interest. or When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. The Sheprador, a popular crossbreed resulting from the union of a German Shepherd Dog and a Labrador Retriever, embodies many desirable traits from both parent breeds. Originating from designer breed efforts to combine the intelligence of the German Shepherd with the Labrador's friendly disposition, these dogs typically boast a medium to large build with a dense, weather-resistant coat that can range in color. Physically, they often exhibit the Shepherd’s strong bone structure and the Lab’s kind eyes. Temperamentally, Shepradors are generally intelligent, loyal, and trainable, making them excellent companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and do best in homes with a yard, as their energy levels make apartment living challenging without significant daily exercise. While generally healthy, potential health considerations include hip and elbow dysplasia, common to both parent breeds, and eye conditions. Early socialization and consistent training are key to fostering a well-adjusted Sheprador.
