Description
Dog Breed: Black Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat). Please contact ADOPTION (adoptdoggieharmony) for more information about this pet. Looses his home 3.31 Max was adopted as a 4 month old rescue pup, and his adoptive family offered him a big back yard, training and so much love and care. But a couple of years ago his adoptive father passed and mom was forced to move to an apartment in an urban area. For 2 years now, his mom has tried really hard to help him and his sister, Maizy, adapt to a new life but it's very restrictive and just not what he grew up with and it's hard for his mom to manage Max and his sister alone and work all day. Max loves the outdoors and would love a yard again or a chance to go on hikes or long walks. He would love to have a home where someone is there for companionship each day or even doggie daycare. He is such laid back , sweet dog, obsessed with catching balls/toys and having activity with his family. He would love a comfy bed of his own or will sleep peacefully at the foot of your bed! The stress of apartment living and mom having to be gone for work has not left him the opportunity to socialize with others and that would help him so much. He is currently on medication for his stress and it works but it's not an ideal life. In the end, apartment management wants Max and his sister Maizy to leave by the end of the month. He's such an excellent family dog, we'd like for him to be able to have. that life again. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
