Description
Dog Breed: Boxer / Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Morgan is a sweet girl who is looking for a new home. She is with our partner rescue in Louisiana but hoping to come to NJ with a foster or adopter. Meet Morgan, the mystery mix with the best personality combo you could ask for. According to her DNA test, a boxer, Chihuahua, shepherd mix??? Weighing in at a petite 32 pounds, this 3‑year‑old girl is fully grown and fully ready to move into your heart and home. Morgan is sweet, sweet, sweet and absolutely adores people and is super friendly with every dog she meets. She enjoys toys, a good romp around the yard, and then happily settles into calm, quiet mode. She’s not a high‑energy pup, just the right amount of fun followed by snuggle time. Her favorite place in the world? Your lap. If you let her, Morgan will curl up and become a 32‑pound lap dog, gazing up at you like you hung the moon. If you’re looking for a gentle, loving, slightly goofy best friend who’s just as happy on a walk as she is on the couch, Morgan might be your girl! Morgan is fixed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and has started her heartworm treatment. S he is available to come to NJ once completed. Her adoption donation will be $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. How to Adopt Me! Breed overview
Overview:
The Boxerhuahua, an intriguing crossbreed resulting from the pairing of a Boxer and a Chihuahua, offers a unique blend of its parent breeds' traits. Originating from designer dog breeding, their exact inception is recent and aims to combine the best qualities of both. Physically, they are highly variable, typically falling into a medium-small size range, often with a compact, muscular build and a short coat. Their heads can lean towards either parent, sometimes showcasing a distinctive "squished" Boxer-like muzzle on a smaller frame. Temperamentally, they are known for being alert, playful, and affectionate, often exhibiting a strong protective instinct inherited from the Boxer, tempered by the Chihuahua's vivacity. They can be good family companions for those who understand their need for consistent training and socialization. While adaptable, their energy levels mean they thrive with regular exercise, making them potentially suitable for apartment living if adequately stimulated. Health-wise, like many crossbreeds, they can inherit conditions from either parent, including potential for brachycephalic issues (from the Boxer) or patellar luxation (from the Chihuahua), underscoring the importance of responsible breeding practices.
