The two ended up in an overcrowded shelter where time and hope were quickly running out. Thankfully, one of our rescue partners stepped in just in time and found a local foster to bring them to safety. Not long after arriving in foster care, heartbreaking news came about KitKat — she has a terminal condition and her time with us will be far too short. When they first arrived, Buck leaned heavily on his sister for comfort. She was his safe place in a confusing new world. Now, as Buck prepares for the next chapter of his life, we want to make sure it’s one filled with stability, kindness, and love. Buck is a young dog who has already been through more than most. Because of his past, he’ll need a family that understands he may take a little time to settle in and feel secure. But behind that uncertain start is a truly sweet, happy dog who wants nothing more than companionship and a place to belong. At his core, Buck is a friendly, joyful pup who absolutely thrives around other dogs. Having a canine sibling (or two!) in his forever home would mean the world to him and help him continue building confidence. He looks to other dogs for comfort, play, and reassurance. Buck loves a good game of fetch and is especially obsessed with balls. When playtime is over, you’ll often find him stretched out in a sunny spot, happily soaking up the warmth. Buck isn’t asking for much—just a patient family, a dog friend to share life with, and a safe home where he can finally leave his difficult past behind. In return, he’ll give you quiet loyalty, playful moments, and the joy of watching a resilient dog discover what it truly means to be loved.
