Name: Gloria Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd and Lab mix Best Guess for Age: 3.5 years as of March 2026 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 57 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen them with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Gloria is Looking For: Gloria is the sweetest girl. At about three yearsv of age, she is out of the puppy crazy stage and in her prime as a young adult dog, ready to join you on all of your adventures! She loves a walk, a trip to the park, a long sniffy walk at the park, or a visit to the beach! She'd love a comfy bed or a spot on the couch. She also wants LOTS of treats. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will look at you like you’re her whole world, Gloria just might be your girl. What My Foster Says About Me: Gloria is likely the easiest foster I have ever had! She is a great leash walker and does not pull. She does great in her crate and doesn’t make a peep. So far she hasn’t barked at all, so she is relatively quiet. She has not had a single accident in my house. She knows to go potty outside. She has gotten along great with all the other dogs she has met. She is such a sweet girl! Yesterday she took all the dog toys from the living room toy bin one at a time and moved them to the dining room where she lay surrounded by all her toys. Heartworm information: Gloria is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Gloria has completed this activity restriction period. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
