Dog Breed: Rottweiler (short coat). Don't forget!! We are currently open by appointment only. This is to control the traffic in the building at one time. If you would like to look at the cats/dogs for adoption, or if you need to relinquish or to do any other business, please message our FB page or call us at 304-267-8389 to schedule an appointment. If you see a specific pet for adoption on our FB page we can always set up a specific meet and greet for that as well. This beautiful girl is a Rottweiler. She is 5 years old and is already spayed.Someone who has Rottweiler experience would be the best new family for her! Ukio is a BIG girl. She has the cutest body wiggles when she is excited. She has never been around other dogs but was raised with cats and kids. Ukio is leash and crate trained and loves to go for car rides. She is strong on a leash because she just gets so happy to see new people. Adoption fee... $175, cash or credit card. Mon.-Sat. 10-4 We understand not everyone can adopt a pet. Some homes are full, some homes do not allow certain pets and some have lifestyles that can't handle a pet right now. You can still help. Sharing pictures on FB, volunteering, or just coming in and sponsoring part of the adoption fee for when the pet is adopted. This helps a lot. No amount is too small to donate towards the adoption fee. If you would like to help sponsor, speak to one of the staff. Especially the cats and kittens need help (since we usually have so many!) Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank You!

Overview:
The Rottweiler is a powerful and intelligent breed, originating in Germany where they were primarily used to drive cattle and guard property. Physically, they are robust dogs, instantly recognizable by their medium-large size, strong build, and striking black coat with distinct tan markings, particularly on the muzzle, chest, and legs. Their temperament, when properly socialized and trained, is one of unwavering loyalty and confidence; they are known for being calm and courageous, making them excellent guardians. While generally good with children within their own family, their protective instincts mean they require supervision with strangers. Due to their size and need for regular exercise and mental stimulation, Rottweilers are generally not ideal for apartment living and thrive in homes with secure yards. Health-wise, they can be predisposed to conditions such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as certain heart conditions, necessitating responsible breeding practices and regular veterinary check-ups.
