Description
Dog Breed: Corgi / Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Peanut Peanut is a 4-year-old male Cowboy Corgi (a Corgi and Australian Cattle Dog mix) weighing about 30 pounds. With his compact size and big personality, Peanut is the perfect mix of playful energy and loyal companionship. Peanut has grown up in a loving home and is known for his sweet, easygoing nature. He gets along well with other dogs and has been great with kids, making him a wonderful potential family companion. While he hasn’t been around cats yet, his friendly temperament suggests he may adjust with proper introductions. He has been trained to go on wee wee pads and will be assessed to see if goes outside on a leash too. Sadly, Peanut’s mom has become ill and can no longer care for him, so he is now looking for a new family who will give him the love and stability he deserves. He’s a devoted little guy who bonds closely with his people and will happily join you for walks, playtime, or just relaxing at home. He comes to NJ on March 14 excited to meet new people. If you’re looking for a loyal, friendly dog with a big heart in a perfectly sized package, Peanut may be the one for you. He’s ready to start his next chapter with a family who will love him as much as he’ll love them. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
