Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Meet Thorn! A super well-rounded 12 week old malinois puppy. He weighs approximately 25 to 30 pounds and has a fantastic temperament. Thorn loves to play and is super social and confident around other people. He is very good around other dogs, smaller animals, cats and young children. When Thorn was smaller he was bottle fed in a sling like a baby, so now he demands to be held like that, which is super cute. Don’t let Thorn’s desire to be babied fool you, he still excels with training and learns new things very quickly. Thorn is treat and toy motivated and has even learned many new commands in his foster home such as sit, wait, touch, down, and how to walk well on a leash. Thorn’s second favorite past time is napping. Matter of fact, all he likes to do in his free time is nap. Some might say he’s a world champion napper. He plays a lot, but once he’s done playing, he’s right back to doing what he loves best and that’s napping. He is easily redirected and he listens very well for his age. He has shown to be a very well rounded dog that could likely excel at most jobs or being a sport dog. He will need an active family that can challenge him and give him a job to do. All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and six month subscription. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
