Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 400. Online Adoption Application › Hello there! My name is Remi and I’m the happiest pup around! I’m a 1 year old, 40lb, suspected hound mix (I have an incredible nose on me) looking for my furever home. Attention, cuddles, and lots of play are the way to my heart. I have a BIG personality so prepare yourself for endless fun and laughs. People tell me I’m very smart and eager to learn; with lots of rewards I pick up new skills really quick. I know a lot of tricks and as long as I’m not bored I’m well behaved in the house. When left alone in the house I like to sit on the couch, waiting for people to come home to give me attention. My crate isn’t my favorite place in the world but as soon as I’m in there I will snooze the whole time. My favorite thing in the whole wide world is being outside, so my ideal home has a big fenced in yard. I love laying in the sun, playing with sticks and pines cones, and most importantly I LOVE running around (I am sooo fast). When I’m not outside leaping and bounding you can find me playing with my toys, going to town on a chew, or lounging pretty much anywhere (most likely your lap if you’re sitting down). My ideal home would also been in a fairly quiet area; a lot of noise makes me anxious and I bark when I’m scared. Meeting new friends, whether human or dog, is a bit stressful for me— but with slow introductions I am incredibly friendly to everyone I’ve met. Walking on leash can also be overwhelming for me, but with a lot of patience and practice I’m pawsitive I will make a wonderful adventure pup! Looking for the sweetest companion with a tail that never stops wagging? Well, I’m right here! ************************************************************************ The puppy adoption fee is $400, which covers food, vetting, microchip and the spay/neuter surgery performed by a rescue-affiliated vet. All puppies have had a wellness visit and are up to date on shots appropriate for age. Breed and size is Pawfect Match Rescue's best guess and not guaranteed. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
