Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat). Location: Maryville, TN. Hi, my name is Carlton. I was stuck in some kennel in North Carolina for what seemed to be forever , then one day the shelter workers said I was breaking out, well w hatever that meant, I went to a Home where my Foster Mom t akes care of me. I have several foster siblings that I really love , and there are even some kitties that I truly do not care about. I love my foster Home, but I need my own furever Home where I know that I never have to leave. I have a lot of love to give and my foster Mom says that I am a very fun boy. Hello, I am Carlton’s foster Mom. He has been with me for about one month. Carlton is one year old and 24 lbs. He has the cutest face. He is a joy to be around. He is extremely acrobatic, and fun to watch, just being playful an d silly. He would thrive in a Home either as a lone pet or with a playmate. He is very dog-friendly. He walks well on a leash. He would make a great active partner. He has a great energy level, so a fenced in area is idea for him He is potty trained as far as I can tell. He ign ored my cats when he was introduced to them. He rides well in a car. Please message or email me for more information on this super sweet boy. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
