Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Bloodhound / Mixed. PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 3/11/26 Gummy Bear (male) is part of our "sweets" litter. He is the biggest of the litter, with a short, round, little roley poley body. He has outgrown his shyness. It was replaced with a friendly, happy personality that is such a joy to be around! I believe he is mixed with bloodhound. He has tons of loose skin and wrinkles. This little litter was born to a stray who took up residence in someone's garage to try to keep her babies safe. Mom is a black lab (maybe mixed with Weimeraner?). She is very shy and timid. We brought mom and babies into rescue when babies were about 3-4 weeks old. They are now about 7-8 weeks old. These babies are so beautiful and sweet! They are not crazy energetic puppies. They are more on the chill side. They are observers, opting to sit back and check things out before diving in to new situations. I think this demonstrates intelligence on their part. They do love to play, but they also love to be picked up and held like the babies they are. We believe they will be large dogs once grown. Mom is only about 40 lbs but based on current size, we think the puppies will be bigger than her. We don't know what they are mixed with, and it is likely there are several different "candy makers" in this batch! He is neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. These puppies are located in Arkansas. They can be adopted locally, but transport is available to the New England area as well. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them in PA, NY, or CT on Saturdays. To apply, please fill out the adoption app: form.jotform/212690945239059 Message us or email apps.aasrgmail with any questions Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Breed overview
Overview:
The Labloodhound, a delightful cross between the noble Bloodhound and the ever-popular Labrador Retriever, embodies a fascinating blend of its parent breeds. Originating from breeders seeking to combine the Bloodhound's exceptional scenting abilities with the Labrador's tractable nature, this hybrid is gaining recognition for its unique qualities. Physically, Labloodhounds are typically medium to large-sized dogs, boasting a sturdy build, expressive eyes, and often the Bloodhound’s characteristic loose skin and long ears, though with a shorter, water-resistant coat akin to the Labrador. Their temperament is generally friendly, intelligent, and affectionate, making them wonderful family companions. While they possess a strong prey drive and an urge to follow scents, their Labrador lineage often tempers their stubbornness, making them more trainable. They require regular exercise and mental stimulation to thrive, and due to their size, they are better suited for homes with yards rather than small apartments. Prospective owners should be aware of potential health concerns inherited from both sides, including hip and elbow dysplasia, bloat, and ear infections.
