Description

Dog Breed: Jack Russell Terrier. Pauley weighs about 14 pounds, and he is 8 months old. He has a very sociable, friendly personality. He is a merle boy with soft, bluish eyes. Pip and Pauley are littermates, but they do not need to be adopted together. These puppies came from a breeder/hoarding situation with far too many dogs to receive proper care. Despite that start, they are incredibly sweet, peopleoriented, and already soaking up affection and routine in their foster homes. They enjoy being held, are adjusting beautifully to normal home life, and—like many puppies from overcrowded environments—may be cautious at first but warm up quickly with kindness and consistency. We are working on housetraining; they love going outside and running in the yard, something they didn’t have the chance to do before. They currently use a pet door in their foster home for potty breaks, which has helped them understand that potty happens outdoors. Even without a pet door, this foundation makes their transition easier, but they will still need patience, supervision, and continued training as they learn your home and routine. WHAT THEY COME WITH: • Vetchecked • Ageappropriate vaccinations • Dewormed • Heartworm & flea preventatives • Spayed/neutered • Microchipped ADOPTION FEE & DEPOSIT: A $50 refundable deposit is required to place a temporary hold until your adoption appointment. If you meet the puppy and decide not to adopt, your deposit is fully refunded. Adoption fee: $450 ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: • A fencedin backyard suitable for a small/medium dog • An adult home during the day with time for a young puppy • No crating — adopters must use an approved puppy playpen • Children age 7+ (younger considered casebycase) • Homes with no dogs or up to one small/medium dog

Jack Russell Terrier

A.K.A.: JRT, Shorty Jack, English Jack Russell Terrier, Irish Jack Russell Terrier, Miniature Jack Russell Terrier, Hunt Terrier, Jack Russell, Working Terrier, Russell Terrier, Parson Russell Terrier
Overview:

The Jack Russell Terrier is a small, energetic dog breed originating from England in the mid-1800s, specifically bred by Reverend John Russell for fox hunting. These compact canines are easily recognized by their sturdy, muscular build, typically weighing between 13-17 pounds, with a height of 10-15 inches at the shoulder. Their coats can be smooth, broken, or rough, predominantly white with black, tan, or tricolor markings. Known for their spirited and confident temperament, Jack Russells are highly intelligent but can also be quite stubborn, requiring consistent training and ample mental stimulation. While devoted to their families, their high energy levels and strong prey drive make them better suited for active households with secure outdoor spaces rather than small apartments. They can thrive with children if properly socialized, though supervision is always advised due to their boisterous play. Generally healthy, they can be prone to certain genetic conditions such as patellar luxation, Legg-Calve-Perthes disease, and some eye disorders, making responsible breeding crucial.
