I’m not just a pet; I’m a partner looking for a "job" and an experienced handler who understands my potential. The Scholar: My Progress I am a "Scholar" at heart—highly intelligent and a fast learner who thrives when I have a task to do. I have a solid foundation and already know how to sit and wait patiently. Because I didn't have the best start in life, I’m currently working with my foster mom on: • Confidence Building: Learning that new situations aren't scary when I have a leader to follow. • Table Manners: Learning to stay calm and focused during meal times. • Appropriate Play: I play rough, so I’m learning to channel that energy into structured work. ️ Mandatory Requirements To ensure I become the "best me," my new home must meet the following criteria: • Experienced Handler: Significant experience with high-drive working breeds is required. • Solo Athlete: I must be the only female dog; no small dogs. • Environment: A home with no children under 10 years old. • Commitment: An owner dedicated to ongoing training and mental stimulation. Overview:
The Rottweiler is a powerful and intelligent breed, originating in Germany where they were primarily used to drive cattle and guard property. Physically, they are robust dogs, instantly recognizable by their medium-large size, strong build, and striking black coat with distinct tan markings, particularly on the muzzle, chest, and legs. Their temperament, when properly socialized and trained, is one of unwavering loyalty and confidence; they are known for being calm and courageous, making them excellent guardians. While generally good with children within their own family, their protective instincts mean they require supervision with strangers. Due to their size and need for regular exercise and mental stimulation, Rottweilers are generally not ideal for apartment living and thrive in homes with secure yards. Health-wise, they can be predisposed to conditions such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as certain heart conditions, necessitating responsible breeding practices and regular veterinary check-ups.
