Description
Dog Breed: Great Pyrenees / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Elmer, the adorable Great Pyrenees. Elmer arrived at the Shelter as a stray so we donât know much about his life before now. Since his arrival at the Shelter, staff have observed that he is soft and interested in interaction, but, understandably, still getting comfortable in the new environment with the new people! Elmer has met a couple of dogs here and even played with another Pyrenees! A home with another dog may be a fit but any resident dogs are recommended to do some speed dating at the Shelter prior to adoption. We do not have any history of Elmer with cats or children. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
