Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever (short coat). COURTESY LISTING COURTESY LISTING Molly is a beautiful 1-year-old black Labrador Retriever with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She’s a sweet, affectionate girl who absolutely loves being part of the action and spending time with her people. Like many young Labs, Molly has lots of energy and would thrive in an active home where she can get plenty of exercise and attention. She would make an excellent jogging or hiking buddy and would love a home where she can be included in daily adventures. Molly does well sleeping in her kennel at night and is comfortable resting there when needed. She isn’t a big fan of being alone for long periods, but she settles nicely in her crate and will happily let you know when she’s ready to start the day! When meeting new dogs, Molly can be a little vocal at first, but once she has a chance to sniff and get acquainted, she does just fine. She would likely do best with another confident larger dog who won’t challenge her. Because Molly is still learning just how big and strong she is, she would probably do best in a home without small dogs or small children. She does, however, do well with cats. A fenced yard would be ideal for Molly so she can safely run, play, and burn off some of that young Lab energy. Molly has been spayed, vaccinated and weighs approx. 75 Lbs. If you’re looking for a loyal, energetic companion who will happily join you for runs, outdoor adventures, and plenty of fun, Molly might just be the perfect match! Overview:
The Labrador Retriever, a beloved and highly popular breed, originated in Newfoundland, Canada, where they were initially bred to assist fishermen by retrieving nets and stray fish. Physically, they are medium-to-large dogs, known for their strong, athletic build, short, dense, weather-resistant double coat (commonly seen in black, yellow, or chocolate), and their distinctive "otter" tail. Temperamentally, Labs are celebrated for their friendly, outgoing, and good-natured disposition, making them exceptional family companions. Their intelligence and eagerness to please contribute to their trainability, though they do require consistent exercise to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. While adaptable, their energy levels make them more suited to homes with yards, or highly active families, rather than apartment living, unless daily extensive exercise is guaranteed. Regarding health, Labs can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia, and some eye conditions, so responsible breeding practices are crucial. Overall, their loyalty, versatility, and affectionate nature firmly establish the Labrador Retriever as a wonderful addition to many households.
