Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (short coat). Adoption Fee: $685. To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see HERE Age: approx. 5.5 months (as of 3/13/26) Weight: approx. 22 pounds (as of 3/13/26) This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet Blondie, the Australian Cattle Dog! You’ll fall head over “heels” for this sweet heeler girl. She is sure to make you laugh and steal your heart with her boundless energy, unique fur pattern and those darling eyes. She just might be the cutest and most loyal companion you’ll ever have on your daily adventures! Blondie is described as the perfect house guest! She is super affectionate and loves making new friends. She is currently working on her house training and showing progress every day. (This is great for such a young puppy!) Blondie loves her toys, likes to snuggle and does very well in her crate. She’ll bark here and there, but not too much—just enough to keep things interesting and let you know what she’s thinking. Her perfect family will be ready for playtime and daily walks to help her get the exercise she needs. If there are kids in the home, we think it’s best that they’re older and able to handle her heeler high energy! Blondie’s paw-fect life will be with an active family that is committed to consistent training, plenty of physical activity, and, of course, lots of couch cuddles at the end of a long day. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
