Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Meet Dumpling! He is a 1-year-old, 23 lb pup with a happy, easygoing personality and a heart full of love. Dumpling is truly one of the easiest little companions you could ask for and is ready to bring joy and comfort to his forever home. Dumpling was rescued from the Cleveland National Forest after surviving for weeks in the wilderness alongside a small companion. The two were found curled up together in a dirt hole on the side of a mountain, exhausted and trying to stay safe from predators. Against all odds, they made it. Now safe, Dumpling is ready to leave survival mode behind and start his next chapter with a family of his own. This sweet boy is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines, and ready to join your family! If you are interested in adopting, please visit the I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue website and complete an adoption application: .icaredogrescue/ready-to-adopt Adoption fee includes: spay/neuter • shots up to date • micro-chip • fecal and vet check Breeds and age are not guaranteed.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
