Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). I've left West Virgini and landed in Pennsylvaini.. WOW, long trip, it's colder up here! I'm Frostine, a 2 1/2 year 52# hound mix of somethin who is shy, reserved n ready for a new life! Mom says she will just get a note in ta spread the word that I's arrived.. was a little scared ridin a car... first time. Others seemed the same, we's talked during ride, they's asared as well. Most of them going on further to colder country north. Glads I's only short few hours, but seemed fun really! Once acclimated to a home, I'm told my gentle manor will be great with human folk of all sizes, even little people, (whatever they are..) Doggies and Kitties! NO MEAN BONE IN MY BODY!!!! HONEST! Anyway, I's a shy gal, not much exposure to "the world outside a kennel" but mom says she will "EDUCATE ME" on the finer things a life.. new friends, livin inside a home, steps, quiet sleep time and she says "snugglin" will be a fun experience too. So, keep up with my change. Just arrived so settlin in. Mom says "I'm gona be an AWSUME gal, "Soft Soul" for a Special Somebody! Frostine's gona become the Bestest Gal Ever!!!! Stayed Tuned for updates!!!!! Kennel License# 04736

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
