Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). I wake up every morning already wagging. Before my eyes even open, I can feel it... the possibility that today will be full of people, and if there are people, there will be attention. And if thereâs attention⦠well, thatâs basically my favorite thing in the entire world. Walks? Oh, donât even get me started. The moment I hear the leash, my whole body turns into excitement. I spin, I bounce, I might even do a little dance!! Itâs hard to keep all this joy contained. Outside is the best place ever. There are smells to investigate, I call it doing my job properly. Now, Iâm not just a pretty face, Iâm smart, too.âSit?â Easy. Iâll do it before you even finish the word. âShake?â Paw, delivered with confidence. Now treats, those are important. I am a very good dog who has definitely earned at least three treats today. Honestly, I just love life. People, walks, snack, itâs all amazing. If youâre around, Iâm happy. If youâre paying attention to me, Iâm thrilled. And if you stop petting me? Well⦠Iâll just nudge your hand until you remember what you were doing.

Overview:
The German Shepherd Dog, a truly iconic breed, originated in Germany in the late 19th century, primarily for herding sheep. They are easily recognizable by their athletic, medium-to-large build, typically weighing between 50-90 pounds, with a distinct double coat that can be black and tan, sable, or solid black. Known for their intelligence and loyalty, German Shepherds possess a remarkably trainable and courageous temperament, making them exceptional working dogs in fields like police and service work. While generally good with families when properly socialized, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them unsuitable for apartment living without significant daily exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as degenerative myelopathy, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
