Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $150. Delilah’s story started out rough, but this little survivor has a whole lot of heart. She was seen being rolled under a moving vehicle, and thanks to a quick‑thinking Good Samaritan, she was rushed to the vet. Everyone was shocked to discover she had no serious injuries — a small miracle considering her size. And maybe that’s where her superpower comes from, because Delilah is what we lovingly call a velcro dog. Her mission in life is simple: stay close to her person and soak up every bit of love she can. What Makes Delilah, this little 2-year-old Yorkipoo Special • Velcro‑level affectionate — she wants to be right by your side • Great with other dogs and enjoys their company (both big and small) • Resilient and gentle, despite her scary start • Loyal, loving, and ready to bond deeply with her forever family Delilah has already proven she’s tougher than she looks, and now she’s ready for the soft, safe life she deserves. She’ll thrive with someone who wants a devoted companion — the kind of dog who follows you from room to room, curls up nearby, and makes every day a little sweeter. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
