Description
Dog Breed: Pomeranian / Husky / Mixed. ***Courtesy Post*** VELA is a beautiful young (8-9 months old) "Pomsky" (Pomeranian-Husky mix) who needs a rescue group, foster home, or an adopter to take her in. Vela is super sweet, loving, and anxious to settle into a forever home. Vela is almost fully grown, her mini-husky breed, typically maxes out at 35 pounds and she’s pretty close to that weight now. Vela is crate trained and house trained. She needs to continue to work on her manners, so she would benefit from a dog-experienced owner. She is active and needs a home where she will be engaged, both physically and mentally. Most of all, Vela needs consistency, love, and care. She’s been passed around because her original “buyers” didn’t have the time to properly care for her. Those who took her in were doing a favor by giving her temporary shelter, and this has happened a few times. She is currently living with pianist in an apartment in Baltimore City. Unfortunately, he cannot keep her but he wants to make sure she is safe. Please email: lisandemsn if you’d like to talk more about Vela, or if you know of someone who has the patience to train and care for an energetic young dog. She’s easy to love!

Breed overview
Overview:
The Pomsky, a charming designer breed, is a delightful mix of the intelligent Siberian Husky and the spirited Pomeranian. Originating in the early 2010s, their popularity rapidly surged due to their captivating appearance. Physically, Pomskies are typically medium-sized, weighing between 10-35 pounds, boasting a thick, fluffy double coat that comes in a wide array of colors and patterns, often resembling a miniature Husky. Their eyes can be a striking blue, brown, or even heterochromatic. Temperamentally, they are known for being playful, intelligent, and affectionate, often forming strong bonds with their families. While adaptable, their energy levels mean they thrive with daily exercise and mental stimulation. They can be suitable for families and even apartment living if their exercise needs are consistently met. Potential owners should be aware of possible health concerns common to both parent breeds, such as patellar luxation, eye conditions, and dental issues, making responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups crucial for a long, healthy life.
