Panini | 4-Year-Old Terrier/Chihuahua Mix | Tiny Shadow Who Lives for Snuggles Panini is a 4-year-old Terrier Chihuahua mix weighing just 5 pounds. This tiny tan girl has a big personality and an even bigger love for her people. She’s playful, affectionate, and happiest when she’s curled up in someone’s lap or being carried around. Panini has a fun, lively spirit and is known to “dance,” prance around excitedly, and rest her head on you when she wants a little extra love. Panini is almost fully house trained and lets her foster know she needs to go out by standing by the door. She walks nicely on a leash and enjoys short strolls, though she’s still perfecting her ability to walk in a straight line. She has a nice balance of energy—she enjoys playtime and toys but is just as happy spending most of her day relaxing and snuggling with her favorite person. Panini has had positive interactions with all the dogs she has met and could live happily with another friendly pup or as the only dog in the home. She hasn’t met cats or children yet but has a gentle, friendly personality and loves people of all kinds. Like many Chihuahuas, she tends to pick one special person to be “her person” and will happily follow them everywhere. Because she loves being close to her humans, she may whine briefly when left alone before settling down, so she would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time, such as someone who works from home or is retired. Panini came from a difficult situation. She and seven other dogs were confiscated from a home during an eviction after authorities discovered they had been living together in extremely poor conditions. The dogs appeared to have been confined together in a single kennel and arrived at the shelter malnourished, with urine-stained fur and signs of neglect. Despite her rough start, Panini has proven to be a resilient, loving little dog who simply wants a safe home and people to love. Panini’s ideal home is one where she can be a constant companion and beloved lap dog. In return, she’ll bring plenty of affection, personality, and adorable prancing to her forever family. If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth.
