Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. Envy is an 8-week-old pitbull puppy with the sweetest eyes and the biggest heart you could imagine. She’s still learning about the world, but every day she shows just how loving, curious, and full of life she is. Whether she’s wobbling after a toy, snuggling up for a nap, or giving tiny puppy kisses, Envy brings joy everywhere she goes. She’s looking for a forever family who will give her everything she needs to grow into the amazing dog she’s meant to be — love, patience, guidance, and lots of cuddles. In return, Envy promises a lifetime of loyalty, laughter, and unconditional love. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this precious girl, Envy is ready to be your best friend for life We do not have a facility for you to visit. You are welcome to email ccrcdogsccrcdogs with specific questions, but please complete the online application, which can be found at .ccrcdogs, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10-day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fees are listed on our website and cover the cost of the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. Most dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers so there is often very little known about their history or current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC has a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, and we have trainers who will offer free phone/email support.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
