Dog Breed: Rottweiler. Meet Archie Archie is a 1‑year‑old Rottweiler with all the classic Rottie charm — big personality, big heart, and a whole lot of determination. He’s looking for a Rottweiler‑experienced home that understands how powerful, smart, and stubborn this breed can be, and who can guide him into adulthood with structure and patience. Archie was unfortunately returned to us for being mouthy, so he’ll need an adopter who is committed to helping him work through this behavior with positive training and consistency. He’s a young dog with tons of potential — he just needs the right person to help him channel all that energy in the right direction. When it comes to other dogs, Archie does well with those who can handle a vocal, enthusiastic greeter. He’s still learning how to introduce himself politely, but he means well and enjoys canine company. Due to his behavior, Archie cannot live with cats, small dogs, or small children. He’ll thrive best in a home that can give him clear boundaries, ongoing training, and plenty of mental and physical enrichment. Overview:
The Rottweiler is a powerful and intelligent breed, originating in Germany where they were primarily used to drive cattle and guard property. Physically, they are robust dogs, instantly recognizable by their medium-large size, strong build, and striking black coat with distinct tan markings, particularly on the muzzle, chest, and legs. Their temperament, when properly socialized and trained, is one of unwavering loyalty and confidence; they are known for being calm and courageous, making them excellent guardians. While generally good with children within their own family, their protective instincts mean they require supervision with strangers.
