Saint is a tiny Chihuahua with a huge personality and a zest for life that’s impossible to miss. The best word to describe him? Jubilant. This little guy approaches everything with enthusiasm—running, playing, eating, and loving his people with his whole heart. Saint moves through life at full speed. He runs like a jackrabbit, devours his meals like they’re the best thing he’s ever tasted, and plays with toys like a kid on Christmas morning. There isn’t a toy he doesn’t like—if it’s available, Saint is ready to play with it. Despite all that energy, Saint also knows how to relax. After a busy day of zoomies and playtime, he’s happy to curl up for a good nap or climb into a lap for some well-earned snuggles. Once he feels safe and comfortable with his people, his affectionate side really shines and he gives more love than you could imagine from such a small dog. Saint can be a little cautious when meeting new people at first, but with a little patience he warms up and becomes a loyal, loving companion. He does well with the other dogs in his foster home and enjoys having playmates to burn off his energy with. Another dog could be a great match for him, though it isn’t required as long as his humans can give him plenty of playtime and attention. He is potty trained and will both go outside and use a potty pad. Saint is crate trained as well, though he may whine for a few minutes before settling down. He already knows several basic commands including sit, come, kennel, outside, quiet, go potty, and leave it, showing that he’s eager to please and enjoys learning. Because Saint loves to run and play, a fenced yard is important for him so he can safely enjoy his daily zoomies. He hasn’t started leash training yet, but with his eagerness to learn, he has great potential. Saint does have a bit of a voice and isn’t shy about using it, especially when he’s excited or wants to communicate. He would do best in a home with older, considerate kids who understand how to respect a small dog. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate little dog who brings energy, laughter, and a whole lot of love into the home, Saint might just be your perfect match. With his goofy personality, playful spirit, and cuddly side, this tiny dynamo is ready to fill his future home with joy. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.
