Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 450. Uni is a spunky little terrier with a big personality and the soul of a cat. At 1–2 years old and around 10 lbs, she’s the perfect mix of medium-to-high energy and endless affection.This sweet girl is already well-trained: she’s fully potty trained, walks beautifully on a leash, goes into her crate willingly, and comes running inside the moment she’s called from the yard. She loves nothing more than zooming around the house in adorable bursts of energy, then curling up for cozy snuggles on the bed.Uni’s favorite treats are cod liver jerky, and she makes friends with everyone she meets — humans and dogs alike. Nothing seems to phase this happy little girl; she’s full of love and always ready for adventure (or a good nap). The adoption fee of $450 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
